| In this process the waste oils and metals are
trapped and fixated in a webbing that forms by chemical reaction during
flocculation. Minute electrical charges bind the contaminants to the clay during
flocculation and a pozzolanic curing process begins that improves with
age. This process effectively 'encapsulates' all unwanted substances within the clay compound, leaving any contaminants unsuseptable to their external environment. Encapsulation produces a safe, non-leachable sludge that in most cases can
be disposed of in non-hazardous landfills. It is recommended that TCLP
testing be performed for verification of non-leachability of sludge
material. |

Clean water meeting local discharge limits can be drained directly to
sewer or reuesed back in plant processes. Non hazardous sludge disposal
keeps you off the waste generator listings and reduces liability. |
